Add Your Own Tribute to Larry

Anyone who knew and cared for Larry can post their own items here.

Larry at Banjara

Don’t know what to post?

Well.

Plain text, photos, media (i.e., songs, spoken poems, eulogies, shout-outs, stories, memories, video files or just a few words from friends or loved ones; whatever it is you feel comfortable sharing) can all be published via the comment form below.

(Maybe that’ll give you ideas on things you might like to say or share.) Once you’ve got that reckoned, “read more” to find out how to post your own tributes.

If you’d like to embed a single audio file, here’s the code:

[audio:http://www.somesite.com/AnAudioFile.mp3]

If you would like to embed multiple audio files (which auto-creates a playlist) as part of your tribute, it’s easy! Here’s the code:

[audio:http://www.somesite.com/igavelarryhisredwings.mp3,http://www.yoursite.com/LimerickforLarry.mp3,http://www.somesite.com/SongThatRemindsMeofLarry.mp3,http://www.somesite.com/ithinklarryrocked.mp3]

No quotations, no spaces and don’t forget your commas. (BTW: the site locations in the examples above are all URLs I just made up to show you how to embed your own audio playlists.)

Here’s an example of what your audio submission will look like. Hit the play button to try it out.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Caution: More than ten items in your audio playlist will auto-flag your tribute as spam and they may not get posted.

If you have reason to do more than ten audio items, you can just publish another comment item. That’s perfectly fine.

Also—embed codes (such as those on youtube and similar sites) work great.

Contact me if you have any problems. Remember, some sites won’t let you hotlink audio from their site. So if your audio isn’t working, that might be why.

If you would like to embed a flash video file ( an .flv or .swf  ) here is the code to do that:

<embed src=”http://www.ultravioletgarden.com/wp-content/mediaplayer.swf” width=”500″ height=”400″ allowscriptaccess=”always” allowfullscreen=”true” flashvars=”height=400&width=500&file=http://www.somesite.com/Your-FLV-File.flv” />

And… here’s an example of what your flash video will look like:

Larry, I met you on AOL and we drove each other nuts in text. Then I went to Paltalk and experienced the real you. Larry, I’ve thanked you many times for all the things you taught me and all the help you gave me with Paltalk. I always introduced you as “the Quasimodo of Paltalk” because you could swing from one outrageous event to another and another. And I want everyone to know that Larry was responsible for making Paltalk change its operating software. Yes he did! Larry was an atheist but he still had a great love of Israel. He and some of his friends would enter an anti-Israel room and they would pretend to support the anti-Israel comments. The room admin would then give him a hat in the room. Within seconds, all his friends had hats too…and the room owner and his supporters would be bounced out! Paltalk was forced to rewrite the software so that room owners could not be bounced by their admins. Larry, you set the standard for many of us to live by. Rest in peace, brother.

We all remember Larry as a man who loved his coke.
