Vapobutter

There’s many recipes out there for cannabutter. (I appreciate them all.) But I don’t know if anyone’s ever made vapobutter.

Not that I knew what I was doing, but I decided to try making pot butter with vaped weed. Vaped weed is weed that hasn’t been burned but rather heated in a vaporizer and then inhaled. Vaporizing your weed is healthier than smoking it, because when you smoke it you’re getting the carcinogens that get made during the combustion process. Eating it is even better for me, which is why I wanted to try vapobutter.

We thought: if this works we can extend the utility of the material.

It worked. Evidently something went very, very, very right. What can I say except don’t make any plans. This is great for sleep problems, pain, anxiety etc., because you get more of the “body high”.

I see Indica in my future.

Volcano Vaporizer Knobbage.

You need a vaporizer. Volcano is our choice. I understand you can get them with digital readouts. We're not that fancy.

Grind the weed using a Mendo mulcher. The little orange plastic grinder that came with our Volcano wasn't that good. At all.

As you’re vaping your weed and over time, you’ll be collecting the “toasted” remains. Save those in your container of choice (we use a ziplock bag).

The green is obviously the unvaped weed. The brown is what it looks like afterwards.

Here’s what you need:

1 cup of vaped weed
3 quarter-sticks of butter (never use margarine)
Water (Guesstimate! But add more water to cook it longer)

You’re going to add all those ingredients into a pot so that you can simmer it. The idea here is to simmer for hours until most, if not all, of the water has evaporated out. I prefer this because I don’t like having to pour out the inch or so of water from the butter after refrigeration. (But tend it—so you don’t burn the butter.) If I have the time I simmer for as long as I can. Remember: you’re cooking weed that’s already been “used”, so simmer longer than you might ordinarily.

After all or most of the water has been simmered out, set it aside to cool.

Once cooled, use cheesecloth and strain it into a container (I use a tupperware container).

Gather the corners of the cloth together and squeeze as much liquid as you can into the container. This may take several minutes and don’t be afraid to use your (washed!) hands. But again make sure it’s cool enough.

After you’ve rung out all the juice, you can throw the vaped weed and the cheesecloth away.

Place the butter in the fridge to solidify.

Vapobutter!

Use vapobutter for brownies, cookies, cakes or whatever you like.

To extend the utility of your material even further: unscrew the bottom compartment of the Mendo mulcher and harvest Kief. (Hey, I’m just learning all this stuff myself. I thought they were talking about Keifer Sutherland.)

I can use Cannabis, legally

I had my appointment with Diane today. It went great and everything’s in order. (Her office is very comfortable, put me at ease. She even let Noble borrow a book that he commented on. And she REALLY read my files! I was impressed with the stuff she remembered.)

(I scanned the original copy of the license.) It’s not the type of license that you may see others using, which includes the patient’s photo (I’ve seen them and they resemble driver’s licenses or photo IDs). Those are valid too but if you have what I have (below) then it’s not really required.

The following is indeed a “license” to use cannabis.

My license to grow, cultivate and use cannabis

Percy Schmeiser beat Monsanto

Percy Schmeiser won!

I’ve been following the blackhat agriculturists for awhile now. Particularly ADM and Monsanto. I was so pissed off at what they did to this farmer (and others: almost 200 farmers have been made to pay millions to Monsanto) that I was thrilled to hear that he beat Monsanto.

Forget about our boys on the Malabar front.

This—is a true hero.

Monsanto accused him of illegally planting their patented suicide seeds (“suicide” because they don’t produce seeds, so one has to keep buying from Monsanto, and “patented” because yes, Monsanto has patented life forms). They also accused him of not “paying for the privilege”.

Privilege? You destroyed his crops. Then you legally harassed him. Then you say having your seeds is a “privilege”? Who the fuck wants your suicide seeds? Yes it’s such a privilege to be 100% dependent on YOUR seeds. The fact is, he didn’t want your seeds. He didn’t plant them. And honestly I am not convinced that you didn’t trespass and contaminate his canola on purpose. After all, from the articles I remember reading, they first learned about the contamination because somebody went onto his property. And I doubt they had permission to do so. I’d actually like to know the story behind that.

I intend to write more about this when I can. For now, here’s this:

A Farmer Rounds Up Monsanto.

And… is Tom Vilsack—the man Obama appointed as Secretary of Agriculture—in bed with Monsanto?

Congratulations Percy, you did it!
